My client has been serving clients for over 30 years, and delivers a truly holistic combination of financial, legal and accountancy advice all in one place.  They now have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced, diploma level 4 qualified individual, who is passionate about financial planning, to join the Senior Management Team and influence the Company as they enter the next stage of their development and growth.

The Role

You will head up the financial planning technical and administrative support teams and ensure the delivery of the client service proposition remains compelling, efficient and competitive. Whilst this isn’t a client-facing role, it is likely that you will have some experience of working with clients and delivering great service.  You will certainly have significant experience in a financial planning environment and a thorough understanding of client delivery systems and process, current technology and regulatory and professional issues consistent with delivering an industry leading environment for the delivery of outstanding financial planning practice to clients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supportive and motivational leadership to the Head of Administration and Head of Paraplanning, providing ongoing strategic advice and guidance in delivering our objectives
  • Work with the Compliance Manager to ensure that the company operates in line with “Best Practice” and is compliant with the principles and regulations set out by the Financial Conduct Authority and other relevant regulatory bodies.
  • Develop and improve the user interface for clients, to enhance the overall client experience.
  • Monitor service levels and fees, and working with the senior management team, ensure the proposition remains competitive in the marketplace.
  • Ensure the creation and implementation of processes and appropriate use of technology to achieve efficient delivery and accuracy.
  • Identify and implement change to unproductive work practices.
  • Oversee the adherence of projects and plans to ensure the business attains its objectives as cost-effectively and efficiently as possible.
  • Identify and resolve strategic issues that may impair the team’s ability to meet strategic, financial, and technical goals.
  • Represent the Company in negotiations with, suppliers, providers, regulatory bodies and other key contacts to secure contract terms for the Company.

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • Previous industry experience, and have Financial Planning Diploma level 4 or higher.
  • In-depth knowledge of the industry’s standards and regulations.
  • High level of technical knowledge, well versed in legal guidelines and corporate best practice.
  • A good understanding of current industry software and back-office systems, particularly newer developments designed to enhance efficiency and client experience.
  • Previous project management, managerial or supervisory experience and training.
  • A proven track record for delivering change.
  • A strong customer service ethos.
  • An outstanding record of achievement both academically and throughout your career.
  • Sound judgement, with the ability to harness information and deliver practical solutions.
  • A can-do attitude, willing to learn, thrive under pressure and handle surprises.
  • Leadership skills, with the ability to train, coach, lead, manage and motivate, be an influencer, and enable and promote an engaging and collaborative culture.
